An international theater creator and the founding co-artistic director of The Chop, with over twenty-five playwriting credits spanning her career, Emelia is also an ongoing contributor to CBC Radio, telling personal stories about motherhood, addiction, grief, her body, and other forbidden topics for almost twenty years. Emelia explores dark matters using comedy as her weapon of choice. A "social acupuncturist,’ she’s known to poke where it hurts - to create healing. A guest lecturer at UBC and SFU, she also hosts retreats and workshops on creativity.

Emelia lives in the woods with her family.
